Robby Berman, Founder & Director

Robert Berman received an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, a BA from Yeshiva University and is a graduate of Gruss Kollel and Yeshivat Hakotel. Mr. Berman has been a social activist for many Jewish causes, and was previously a freelance journalist published in New York Magazine, the Jerusalem Post, Jewish Week, Moment Magazine, and Jerusalem Report. He is founder and director of the Halachic Organ Donor Society.

Eddie Reichmann, M.D.

Rabbi/Dr. Reichman received his M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (NY) of Yeshiva University in 1990, and received his rabbinical ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University in 1997. He is currently attending physician at the Emergency Department of Montefiore Medical Center of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and is also assistant professor of the Department of Epidemiology and Social Medicine, a Division of Philosophy and History of Medicine also at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is a prolific writer and speaker on bio-ethics and serves on the bioethics committee of the New York Organ Donor Network.

Shepard Schwartz, M.D., President

Shimshon Schwartz, M.D., obtained a B.A. from Yeshiva College in 1982 and an M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1986. He is currently attending chief for the pediatric emergency room in Sharei Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem. Dr. Schwartz also has a private pediatric practice in Jerusalem, and during the summer he is a physician at Camp HASC, NY.

Michael Feldstein

Michael Feldstein received his MBA from New York University, and is the marketing director at Boardroom Inc., a direct marketer of books and newsletters. Mr. Feldstein has extensive experience in helping Jewish organizations with their marketing, advertising, and public relations and is on the Board of Directors of Edah. He lives in Stamford, CT, and serves as Chairperson of the Advisory Committee of the local Jewish newspaper, the Jewish Voice. He has also served on the boards of both the Young Israel of Stamford and Congregation Agudath Sholom, is an active member of the community's Chevra Kadisha, and was the president of the Eruv Committee.

Harold Perl, M.D.

Harold Perl received his B.A. from Yeshiva College in 1972 and his M.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1975. He is presently the Director of Neonatology at Hackensack University Medical Center. He is a founding member of the Bioethics Committee at HUMC. In addition he serves as the Medical Director of the SIDS Center of New Jersey. He maintains an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Dina Najman

Dina Najman received her B.A. from Yeshiva University in 1990. She was a fellow at Drisha Institute in New York and Nishmat Institute in Jerusalem. She is a certified Bioethicist through the NYU/Einstein Bioethics and Medical Humanities program (1998). Dina lectures on Bioethics and halacha in many communities and has taught in Nishmat, Drisha and Ma’ayanot High School.

Freddy Schwartz, M.D.

Freddy Schwartz, M.D., obtained a B.A. from Yeshiva College in 1988 and an M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1993. Dr. Schwartz is currently attending chief for the pediatric emergency room of West Orange Medical, and during the summer he is physician at Camp HASC (New York).

Yossi Goldberger, M.D.

Jeffrey Goldberger, M.D., obtained a B.S. from MIT in 1980 and an M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1984. He is currently the Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University.
