Age and Health of Donor
Most people think that in order to be an organ donor, one must be young and healthy. While that is ideal, it is not true. People as old as 90 have been able to donate livers, and even people with certain types of cancer and diabetes may be able to donate some of their organs.
Since medical technology is always changing, and the requirements for eligible donors are constantly changing, the best policy is to always list yourself as an organ donor. The medical team will do a full assessment to determine the viability and health of any organs before they attempt recovery.
